Clive Marshall is Chief Executive of PA Group, the parent company of the Press Association, UK’s leading multimedia news agency and digital content & service provider.
Since taking up the role in February 2010, Clive has led the successful transformation of the business, implementing a strategy to reduce the Group’s reliance on the traditional media sector. This has enabled PA Group to consolidate its position as the preeminent supplier of multimedia content and services to customers in the UK and overseas, across media, business and government.
Under his leadership, the PA Group has grown to incorporate a range of specialist media companies. These are Commotion, a branded content agency; Globelynx, which provides TV-ready remotely monitored camera systems for corporate clients to connect with TV news organisations; Sticky Content, a full-service digital creative and social agency; StreamAMG, a video streaming business; and TNR, a broadcast communications consultancy. PA Group also owns stakes in Baize Group, a leading provider of automotive content, events and PR services, and the social video creation platform, Wochit.
Clive was previously Chief Executive of the Australian Associated Press (AAP). In the nine years that he led the company, AAP achieved strong and consistent growth in both revenues and profits, and the business built a number of successful subsidiaries, including Pagemasters, AAP Newscentre, and AAP Media Net.
In addition to his management and board responsibilities at PA Group, he chairs the boards of Baize Group and StreamAMG. He is also a member of the advisory board at Sheffield University’s Department of Journalism, and a member of the Nomination Committee of the Thomson Reuters Trust. Away from the media industry, he is a Trustee of the Royal National Children’s Foundation.
Until its sale to General Atlantic in March 2014, he was also Chairman of MeteoGroup, Europe’s leading private weather company.
